This is a study of Islam, dealing with the principles of the Islamic creed and touching on the effect they have on the individual who practises them. The essays have been compiled to celebrate the occasion of the World of Islam Festival, which was held in London in 1976. It is hoped that, along with the other works, it will give readers the opportunity to become acquainted with the essence of Islam and its message. this book aims at the general reader and gives simple images of the tenets of the Islamic creed without becoming too technical or going into great detail. The reader will observe that we have attempted to let the Qur’an and Sayings of the Prophet speak for themselves as they are the main sources of Islamic teachings and that we have not added anything which has no support in these.
