DESCRIPTION:
Prayer is the backbone of religion, the best way to show obedience to ALLAH and the shortest way to be close to Himilt is the first of worshipping acts after sincere belief in ALLAH, as He says ‘And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Sal& (1qamat-as-Salot) and give Zak6t, and that is the right religion.” (Al-Bayena verse 5) ALLAH also has prescribed the prayers on all His prophets. The Prophet (P.B.U.H.) set prayers as the main corner in turning into Islam, and the base of religion without which faith is not sound. He also indicated that performing prayers in their due time is the act ALLAH likes best. Prayer is the first to be asked about in the doomsday, if it is dutifully performed. ALLAH Al-Mighty has made it a reason to forgive sins. ALLAH also praised those who perform prayers and promised them with Paradise. That is why the Prophet’s (P.B.U.H.) last instruction to his nation is performing prayers. Driven by these holy verses and prophetic traditions, a deep exploration in prayers is needed, as the first generations of the Muslims were very keen on performing prayers in the very same way the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) did. With time passing, the Muslims turned more and more away from the right way, and many heresies resulted. Thus, we have to correct the misconceptions and mistakes committed by the Muslims, through highlighting these heresies and reminding them of the Prophetic traditions.
