History of Islam (2 Volume Set) [Revised Edition]

R 799

DESCRIPTION:

History stands as the most effective and valuable source of putting nation on the course of progress and prosperity and saving them from the path of disgrace and degradation. At a time, when there is tough competition among the nations of the world to excel one another, the Muslim, despite having the most glorious history, appear to be detached and careless as regards their history. This book presents the true Islamic events and their actual causes before the English readers because the other books in the English language found on the Islamic history have been written by such authors and compilers who did no justice in presenting the true picture of Islamic Era but their prejudice prevented them from doing so.

The book is divided into two parts: Part One covers the period from 571 to 750 C.E., and Part Two covers the period from 750 to 1258 C.E. Each part consists of several chapters that deal with different topics and themes. The book also has an introduction that provides an overview of the sources, methodology and objectives of the book. The book also has appendices that provide additional information on chronology, genealogy, geography and bibliography. The book is a valuable contribution to the field of Islamic history. It presents a balanced and comprehensive view of the achievements and challenges of the Muslim community during the classical period. It also highlights the diversity and unity of the Muslim world, as well as its interaction with other civilizations. The book is based on sound scholarship and critical analysis, but it is also written in an accessible and engaging manner. The book is a useful resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the history of Islam.

The first volume deals with the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the four rightly guided caliphs, the Umayyad and Abbasid dynasties, the emergence of various sects and schools of thought, the expansion and consolidation of the Islamic empire, and the interaction with other civilizations. The second volume covers the decline and fragmentation of the Abbasid caliphate, the rise and fall of the Fatimid, Seljuk, Crusader, Mongol and Mamluk powers, the development of Islamic sciences, arts and literature, and the legacy of Islam in different regions of the world. This book fulfills the need of an overall history of Islam which should present the history of Islam in proper perspective. The book deals with the questions which arise and call for answer are: what is history; what is Islam; and what exactly do we mean by "History of Islam". It is a great service of Islam by the learned author to have presented the history of Islam in exhaustive manner. It is a comprehensive and multi-dimensional history embracing all aspects of life, and covering all activities of the people who profess Islam and full view of Islam.
