DESCRIPTION:
A collection of 40 Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) focusing on the notion of social justice in Islam.
“In this concise work, Sh. Omar Suleiman has collected many precious gems from the du`as of the righteous. The reader cannot help but get swept away in the spiritual earnestness that these beseechers felt. Animated by these timeless invocations, I pray that all of us can not only use these classical prayers ourselves, but be inspired to produce our own, from the depths of our hearts, so that our du`as, too, can be heard by the Almighty.” Yasir Qadhi
Justice is essential to the survival and flourishing of any civilisation. The words of God and His Messenger (pbuh) remind us of the centrality of justice in our lives and our societies. Injustice (zulm) is condemned repeatedly in the Qur'an and the teachings of the Prophet (pbuh). How are we to confront injustices in our personal lives, our communities and our societies? In an age of widespread injustices against the weak, the vulnerable and the dispossessed, how does Islam teach us to respond?
This unique commentary on forty hadith narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) explores Islamic teachings regarding social justice. It covers a wide variety of topics ranging from the environment, racism, family relations, the rights of the elderly, the disabled, and humanity more generally. This book will take you on a journey through Islam's rich heritage and the guidance it provides us to confront injustices in our societies today.
"Easy and Profound. A must read for all Muslims. It reminds us that our Prophet PBUH was a man of action, always just, balanced, practical and aimed to please God." - 5 star review via Amazon
